Easy Keto Diet

Keto for beginners. How to start with Keto?

At a work meeting days ago, one of my classmates commented that she had started the Keto diet, another of her classmates said -Keto? I like that diet, a friend told me full bacon and that’s it.

At Nature’s Discount we know that the Keto diet uses fats, but to get you started properly and not just consume all the bacon in the refrigerator, we have prepared for you a guide to get you started on the Keto lifestyle.

Let’s start by clarifying what is the Keto diet?

On a keto diet, we decrease the amount of carbohydrates to a minimum, and we increase the amount of high-fat foods. A standard keto diet includes 75% fat, 20% protein, and 5% carbohydrate-rich foods (source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17332207 )

When the glucose present in carbohydrates is lacking to provide energy, fats in the liver become the main source of energy for the body and ketone bodies (ketones) are obtained.

Ketones will be distributed throughout the body as a nutrient, and our body will enter a state of ketosis. A state similar to when we are fasting.

Turn your body into a fat burning machine … Even when you sleep!

By working almost exclusively with fats, it is easier for our body to access the body fat deposits and burn them faster, bringing a rapid weight loss as the main benefit.

What foods should I consume?

A balanced keto diet includes proteins like red meat, chicken, turkey, and fish like salmon, trout, and tuna.

Also, you can include the wide range of nutrient-rich green vegetables, and others like tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers.

Other ideal foods for this diet include eggs, butter, avocado, cheese, nuts and seeds, coffee, dark chocolate, olive, coconut, and avocado oil.

These foods are not only appropriate for a ketogenic diet, they also provide extra health benefits

What benefits does the Keto diet provide?

Although losing weight is the main goal behind a good part of the followers of this diet, there are also other benefits that can be taken advantage of.

As with its origins, the ketogenic diet can be followed to treat epilepsy. Also, and although further studies are still needed, it can bring benefits to fight cancer, diabetes, and even conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and acne.

Dozens of studies prove the health benefits of a keto diet

Are there any side effects?

More than a side effect, some people go through an adaptation period, which is called ” the keto flu .

Symptoms of this flu include decreased energy, hunger, lack of sleep, nausea, and digestive upset.

What to do about it?

During the first days, you can try to decrease the amount of carbohydrates little by little and not cut them to a minimum. Also, you can include an extra touch of salt in your food or take mineral supplements to maintain a balance in your body.

Lean on some supplements like Keto Weight Loss that was created to help combat the effects of starting the Keto diet.

But there is not much to worry about! Like a flu, this period lasts only a few days, and the Keto diet is more than just a fad. Stay informed, guide your steps with a specialist, and enjoy the benefits of a diet that goes beyond weight loss. At Nature’s Discount we accompany you in the beginning of a healthier life.
